Fat and Fatter

Dave went to MI this morning for work and I'm already hating it! He's only been gone for a few hours and I can't wait for him to come home. He's just such a good Daddy that we're going to miss him a lot. We decided to get a lot of junk food to help me eat the time away. I told him I was going to be fat(er) when he gets home. Jake and I started right away. We made cupcakes and before we knew it someone (I won't mention any names) had eaten half a plate of the mini ones. Someone now hates cupcakes!

Gracie's Room

I decided that since Gracie sleeps in our room anyway, we might as well turn Jake's toy room downstairs into a nursery to put all of her junk. I painted and bought a bed set and stuff. You can't really see from the pic, but you get the idea. She takes naps down there. It's nice to finally have her stuff in her own space. Love it!!!

Yesterday Jake had his first haircut from someone other than me or Dave. He did great! He keeps us on our toes. The other day Jake and Gracie were sitting together when all of a sudden they both started screaming and freaking out. I thought they got shocked or something. It took like ten minutes to calm them down. Jake couldn't even talk he was so upset. Anyway, we couldn't get it out of him what happened, but he kept demanding Gracie say sorry for scaring him. The next day he still hadn't let it go and he said, "Gracie didn't say sorry yet." I asked him what had happened and he in a no big deal way said, "Oh, I stuck a pen up her nose." AAAHHHH!!! Stinker!!!

Sleeping Like A Baby

I was such a tired mom with Jake that I just let him sleep with us. We are barely getting him to go to bed on his own. We are totally proud of him for adjusting so well. Anyway, we don't want Gracie to do that too so I'm working real hard on getting her in her own bed. She falls asleep fine (most of the time) on her own but then I can't sleep because she's not in bed with me. By the time she wakes up to eat I'm so tired that I just pull her in bed with us to feed her then I fall right to sleep. Gracie isn't the problem... it's me! I keep thinking I'll get better at it but it's been a week and I still can't sleep without her. I know I sound totally pathetic. Any suggestions from other moms out there?

Dog Bite

Sorry this is gross and no offense to dog lovers, but I hate dogs and this is why. My parents dog attacked Jake the other day. Poor kid! He's tough though. He just says, "Stupid dog!" and he's right!

On a lighter note...

Gracie is such a good baby. If we had known babies were easy we would have had one sooner and not waited for an oops. She's all smiles and likes to coo. I love having a girl! I like to dress her up in dresses and big hair bows. Today I painted her toenails. No one else will see them because it's too cold, but it's still fun.
